How collective intelligence beat Wall Street and what it means for safe superintelligence

This early work established the principles underlying iQ Company’s approach to leveraging collective intelligence from millions of human intelligences to gain an edge over the best minds on Wall Street.  Subsequently, these early architectures were expanded to include both human and AI agents, capable of solving arbitrary problems, in any domain, and foreshadowing our novel approach to designing Safe SuperIntelligence.

Why software quality principles are the right foundation for AI safety

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We applied the same principles responsible for developing high-quality software, namely defect prevention, to the design of safer, advanced AI systems. This early work outlines the foundational principles and associated techniques.

How cognitive science and neural networks inform the most advanced AI systems

Cognitive Science, the study of intelligent systems (human or AI), is the foundational science that underlies all our advanced AI designs. Along with the Nobel Laureate, Turing Award Winner, and AI pioneer Dr. Herbert A. Simon, Dr. Kaplan co-authored one of the seminal papers that established the field of Cognitive Science back in 1988. His other work that same year showed how neural networks (the basis of all modern AI) might be applied to creativity and insight. Finally, in work published in one of the leading Journals of the field, Kaplan and Simon showed how human insight and creativity might be modelled with techniques that today have relevance for the creativity of the most advanced AI systems.

iQ Company’s research has resulted in many issued patents spanning collective intelligence, forecasting systems, intelligent interfaces, and scalable problem-solving architectures. These patents informed more recent inventions, including our novel approach to a faster, more profitable, and SAFER path to SuperIntelligent AI systems.
